Porth Teigr is a mixed-use development project on the south side of Roath Basin in Cardiff Bay and one of the most significant waterfront developments in Europe.
Coming years will see the delivery of a new, vibrant and environmentally sustainable mixed-use neighbourhood. It will include creative, media, commercial, leisure, retail and residential space.
It's already off to a flying start...
At 170,000 sq ft, the BBC's completed Roath Lock studios is one of the largest investments in new drama facilities in Europe, bringing new jobs and opportunities for growing businesses across Cardiff and South Wales. The studios are home to flagship BBC programmes including Doctor Who, Casualty, and the Welsh-language drama Pobol y Cwm.
BBC Worldwide's Doctor Who Experience is also open to the public at Porth Teigr. The Experience takes visitors on a journey through special effects, sets and memorabilia from the series, including a recreation of the modern TARDIS. It is based near to Roath Lock studios, and is set to attract around 250,000 visitors to the area each year.
Construction has also been completed on the Welsh Government's new centre for the creative industries building GloWorks a bespoke facility to provide opportunities for small, high-growth creative businesses and the first building at Porth Teigr to deliver office and retail space to the market.
