Porth Teigr Property Agents Confirmed

Igloo Regeneration, developers of Porth Teigr, one of the most significant waterfront developments in the UK, has announced the appointment of property agents Fletcher Morgan and Knight Frank to act on its behalf in negotiations with potential tenants interested in the 38 acre site.

Porth Teigr represents the final major development opportunity within the Cardiff Bay Inner Harbour, and has the potential to create a truly mixed-use scheme which will include the creative industries, commercial, residential and leisure uses.

The development is in keeping with igloo's commitment to FootprintR, the policy of sustainable investment designed to deliver benefits by generating economic, environmental, social and financial value in edge of city-centre locations.

The centrepiece of the development is the new 170,000 sq foot Roath Lock studios being occupied by BBC Wales.  This is one of the largest investments in new drama production facilities of its kind in Europe, bringing new jobs and opportunities for growing businesses across Cardiff and South Wales.

Mark Hallett, Development Director at igloo says: "Building upon the success of the BBC, we're already beginning to talk to potential occupiers. The appointment of a strong local practice like Fletcher Morgan alongside the local office of a national practice like Knight Frank clearly demonstrates the scale and potential draw of the development."

Matt Phillips, Managing Partner, Knight Frank, says of the recent appointment: "Knight Frank is delighted to be appointed on this scheme. We have close associations with Cardiff Bay as we are the asset managers for Aviva on the Cardiff Waterside estate and our own offices are based in Cardiff Waterside. The fact that the BBC has already been secured on the site gives us the opportunity to build on this momentum and secure new investors and occupiers into the city. We have the opportunity here with Porth Teigr to establish something very special for both Cardiff and Wales."

John James, Fletcher Morgan added: "We are delighted and excited to be involved with the project and are already witnessing a great deal of interest. Porth Teigr has the ability to create a new community, comprised not only of offices and media groups, but also a new hotel, restaurants and retail units."
