The Awards, which highlight national leadership in the  field of sustainable business and encourage  organisations to share best practice in the field of  sustainability, are now in their second year.
In the  Built Environment category, igloo  Regeneration's Porth Teigr development held off stiff competition  from Marks & Spencer and Prologis.

The award recognised the effort that has been made  by igloo and its partners, BBC Cymru Wales and the  Welsh Government, at the Porth Teigr  development to ensure that sustainability is at the  forefront.  For example, development at Porth Teigr  adheres to Igloo's pioneering sustainable investment policy, FootprintR.  As a result of maintaining this ethos of sustainability, significant achievements have been made.

One of the key successes is that BBC Roath Lock studios, which is the fastest building of its size ever delivered for the BBC, achieved a BREEAM Outstanding rating - the first of its kind in the UK.  Roath Lock also achieved a Considerate Contractors score of 37 and an Energy Performance Certificate 'A' rating.

Mark Hallett, Development Director at igloo Regeneration, says: "We are absolutely delighted that Porth Teigr has won the award for Built Development in these prestigious national sustainability awards.

"Sustainability is at the heart of all of igloo's developments.  We don't see sustainability as a 'nice-to-have'; we see it as a fundamental part of our approach to development which not only helps to protect and preserve environmental and social factors, but is also attractive to investors, gives competitive advantage and minimises long-term value risks."

Caroline Holtum, Guardian Sustainable Business's (GSB) head of content, said: "GSB is only eighteen months old but it is already valued and seen as a key resource by professionals who are committed to embedding sustainability into their organisations.

"We were delighted to receive entries of such high quality and are pleased that the awards have already become an important part of the annual sustainability calendar.

"While the awards are an opportunity to celebrate those individuals and companies that are committed to making a positive difference, they are also an excellent way of showcasing best practice that we hope other companies can learn from and follow."
